  • Academic Hall Dome Tours

    Where: Academic Hall
    Description: Meet in front of Academic Auditorium on the main floor of Academic Hall to tour the newly restored dome. The dome was restored with a new copper surface during two years of building renovations in 2012-2013. A mezzanine, built between the building's second floor and the dome, has a ceiling consisting of a glass skylight offering a complete view of the dome's interior and the historic chalked signatures added to the dome's wooden structure. A spiral staircase is built upward from the mezzanine to a ringed walkway encircling the perimeter of the done, offering views through the dome's porthole-type windows.
