    Description: We are excited to offer an expanded summer season with something for everyone,” said Rhonda Weller-Stilson, associate dean and director of the Earl and Margie Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts. “All three shows have a Southern theme. We open with ‘Always . . . Patsy Cline’ and its wonderful classic country music. Audiences will laugh and cry at the hit show ‘Steel Magnolias,’ and children will delight at the musical ‘Honk! Jr.’” Performances of “Always . . . Patsy Cline” are slated for 7:30 p.m. June 16, 21, 24, 26 and 29 and 2 p.m. Sunday June 19 in the Wendy Kurka Rust Flexible Theatre at the Southeast River Campus.   • Theatre and Dance Academy: Ballet (Grades 1-3)

    Where: River Campus-Southeast Missouri State University
    Description: The Southeast Missouri State University Department of Theatre and Dance will offer its annual summer Theatre and Dance Academy June 6-10 and June 13-18 at Southeast’s River Campus. For students in kindergarten through high school, the Theatre and Dance Academy is an intensive theatre and dance educational experience with classes covering a variety of interests. Ballet Students will learn the skills, techniques and basic positions of classical ballet. This class can be taken for one or two weeks, but they do not build on each other. So if students can only attend the second week, they will not miss anything. A special performance for family and friends will be on the final day. Week one begins June 6-10, and week two from June 13-17. Class times are 9-10 a.m. for children in grades 1-3 and 1-2 p.m. for children in grades 4-6 at the Kenneth and Jeanine Dobbins River Campus Center, Room 119. Tuition is $100.
