    Description: Use every imaginable type of paper from wallpaper to toilet tissue, magazine pages to sheet music, old books and cardboard! Create sculptures with paper, cardboard, glue, tape and string. Day one will introduce the techniques and concepts: tearing, shredding, gluing, molding, weaving, to name a few! We will make paper mosaic “paintings” to include a self portrait, along with functional 3-D objects and even altered books. We will view artwork of contemporary artists who use these techniques and media. You will have creative freedom to determine what you want to make! Instructor: Rosetta Whitten

    Description: Participants will create vessels with clay. This class will discuss the basic elements of a vessel while learning beginning ceramics. Projects will include a large coil pot, bowls, cups, and throwing on the pottery wheel. Due to the lengthy process of drying pottery and firing kilns, most of the ceramic pieces created will need to be picked up by parents the week after the class. Instructor: Benjie Heu
